Tidy yarn storage

Here's a handy idea ( I found here) for storing balls of yarn, that puts to use unnecessary waste at the same time:

Repurposing vintage buttons

These old buttons have been repurposed into elegant, contemporary earrings. You can find them here:

1920's ruby glass buttons
1880's jet black shoe buttons

We have a nice collection of vintage-y 1950's-ish buttons here at The UCC.....

THE GREENSET

One of my best friends, who I actually went to high school with - yes, all the way back to high school days- writes a blog called the greenset about eco-friendly fashion and eco-friendly beauty products. She is a lively writer, and her postings are extremely well-researched.

We are all about repurposing here at The UCC.

Here is just one of her entries:

PRELOVED

" New clothes! Made from old clothes! OMG! These dresses are sweet, and so is recycling old garments and vintage materials into fresh new looks. It's cool that so many independent designers are working with the art of re-fashion, and it's even cooler that companies like Preloved are doing it so well.

And they make dresses for guys too! Well, not dresses, but clothes anyway.
